We have established a society of lying by lying to our children. We teach them that it is okay to lie if we dream up a reason, no matter how silly. Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Bogeyman, the Sandman, the Tooth Fairy, and many more were created with good intentions, but as a child learns the truth, they realize that adults will humiliate them for their own pleasure and say that they are doing it for the child. Is it any wonder that children don't really trust their parents? |
