The Lottery Scam 

Do you know that the Mafia faithfully paid back 60% of all money wagered on their numbers games?

The government found out that desperate people don't mind getting screwed as long as it's done with the proper lies, so why not keep it all?

In round numbers:

To pay you a 100 million dollar prize,
the government collects 200 million,
gives you 5 million,
then takes half of it for taxes,
then annually gives you PART of the interest YOUR MONEY EARNS for the next 20 years.

They even count a "free ticket" as part of the prize they pay out.  That really rubs our noses in it.

Even the Mafia would never dream of being as crooked.

But I'm not bitching.  It's for a good cause.  The government never has enough money to spend.
