Global Warming — a Good thing? 

Our melting ice caps could very likely help to keep the crust of the Earth stable.  When the caps get too heavy the crust will rotate the caps toward the equator, causing a catastrophic mass extinction.

How many times has this happened in the past?  We don't know.  But we do have evidence that it has happened in the past and is likely to happen again in the near future.

Of course, if our ice caps melt enough, it won't happen.
