Congress and Crack Cocaine |
|
Since crack cocaine is the safest form of cocaine, what could be the motive for Congress to want stricter penalties for doing it? It is nearly impossible for someone to overdose on crack cocaine for several reasons: It is not water soluble, meaning that it has to be smoked. It doesn't absorb through the skin. It can't be snorted. It can't be taken in food or drink. It doesn't work in any of the numerous sexual methods that require powdered cocaine. To get the desired effect it has to be smoked! A person can't smoke enough to do any real damage to themselves unless they do powder cocaine or other drugs with it. How can we elect people too stupid to know that? I'm not saying that crack cocaine is a good thing, but it is a much safer drug than crystal meth, which is usually injected by the serious abuser. Crystal Meth, heroin, powder cocaine, and alcohol are the real killer drugs. The drug of choice by those that can afford it is still powder cocaine. I guess it's no wonder that it is considered practically a misdemeanor, and the "poor man's" drugs are considered horrendous. The last I heard, the "lawmakers" are pretty well paid. |
