There was a time when baseball games on the radio only had commercials at the end of a full inning. Between innings the announcers talked baseball, told stories, and generally kept the listeners amused and informed. Now they can't tell you scores of other games without saying that they are being brought to you by some company trying to rip you off. An announcer used to act like a fan's friend. Now they are simply shills trying to get in your pocket. Remember: These advertisers wouldn't have to advertise as much if they put more of their money into making a better product. The word would spread like wildfire. |
