There are hundreds of books of drivel, and dozens of "snake-oil" medicines that are touted to help people overcome various addictions. 99% of them are total SCAMS. They are like leeches finding a new body in the water. They have found that some people will spend big money to "prove to themselves" that they are doing everything they can to overcome their addiction. Others will spend for an addicted family member or friend. What alcoholic will actually read a book about alcoholism. They may make you think that they are reading it, but they're not.
